Creativity and individual differences: a 7Cs perspective
This talk will showcase various studies of creativity in the context of individual differences. First, individual differences in creative potential, and ways of detecting them, will be described. Second, individual differences in the creative process will be fleshed out based on empirical studies of artists and engineers. Third, the impact of the environment on individual differences in creative performance will be explored and illustrated.
Todd Lubart is Professor of Psychology at the University of Paris (France) whose work focuses on creative potential and its detection. He has directed a research lab, overseen several large-scale projects on creativity, and is currently leading ISSCI, a non-profit organization that fosters international research initiatives on creativity. Over the past 30 years, he has developed widely used psychometric tools to assess creative potential and authored/co-authored 200+ articles, books and book chapters on creativity.
